Peach Tree Lane Vineyard is owned and operated by Miles Garrett and his family in our 60 acre property located in Willow Creek, CA. Willow Creek is a small community in the Trinity River Valley, a wild & mountainous region. Warm inland air during the day and cool ocean breezes at night and a long growing season make for optimum ripening while maintaining good, crisp acidity. The vineyard is perched on a south/southwest facing hillside at 900 feet elevation, on an ancient river shoulder. Peach Tree Lane Vineyard has been farmed organically and certified by CCOF since the beginning (year 2000) when David Winnett, previous owner, planted all the grapes. When in 2016 Miles&family adquired the vineyard, he kept the same type of organic farming but also made few changes. Miles now dry farms the vines, plants cover crop and allows the farm animals (donkeys, pigs, chickens, etc.) into the vineyard at certain times to graze. We are now working on some new varieties and slowly growing the vineyard. All vineyard work is done by us, our friends, family & volunteers and one full time employee.
Our also organic and Willow Creek AVA located neighboors, The Dragon Vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in the area. It´s located next to the Trinity River and we help harvest the grapes + buy some from them (Carmenere in this case). Dragon Vineyard is Valley Floor, sandy loam on a granite shelf. Very dry & raisony, they do some irrigation during summer.
A field blend of Carmenere from the Dragon Vineyard and Cab. Franc from Peach Tree Lane, mostly whole cluster fermentation and raised in neutral french oak barrels for 12 months. No filtration and no other modifications or additions. No SO2 addition.
We planted 1000 new vines of Cabernet Franc in our vineyard in 2020 since we love the fruit our land produces from these vines and it is the kind of wine we are wanting to make and be known for.
